Foodprinsight - we give insight into the environmental and social impact (footprint) of food products through life cycle assessment (LCA)

We’re a small company, but have a big passion for modelling environmental footprints. With years of hands-on experience conducting LCAs across a wide range of food and agricultural products, we’ve built strong expertise and a sharp eye for what matters. We know our way around LCA guidelines and calculation rules, we genuinely enjoy building robust models in LCA software SimaPro, and are eager to turn the impact results into clear, actionable insights.
Every project begins with understanding your goals, product, and data availability. Whether you’re seeking a quick carbon footprint scan or a full ISO-compliant LCA, we adapt our methods to fit your goals, timeline, and available data. As a small and dedicated company, we can offer flexible, tailored, and affordable solutions that align with your specific needs. Our Mission

At Foodprintsight, our mission is to provide clear, science-based insight into the environmental impact of food and agricultural products through tailored Life Cycle Assessment services. By making the environmental footprint of food products visible, understandable, and actionable, we help companies to enhance the sustainability of their products.

Our Vision

We believe that providing insight into the environmental impact of food is a first step towards change. We envision a world where producers, retailers and consumers have clear insight into the impact of what’s on our plates – and are empowered to reduce their impact, contributing to a more sustainable, resilient food system.

WHO WE ARE

Behind Foodprintsight

Foodprintsight is led by Caroline te Pas, a sustainability expert with over 10 years of experience in environmental footprinting and international development. She has conducted Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) for a wide range of clients – including retailers, multinational corporations, NGOs, start-ups, and other companies across the food and beverage sector.
From dairy farms to apple orchards, and from rice fields to oat milk lattes – her LCA work follows food from its very roots through crops, animal farming, and processing, right up to plant-based innovations, beverages, and other finished products. Next to LCA studies, Caroline has developed tailored environmental footprint calculation tools and contributed to creating and updating product-specific environmental footprint guidelines with industry sector organizations.
Before focusing on LCA, Caroline worked on climate change adaptation and sustainable agriculture for an international development organization, living and working in several countries across East and West Africa  (as can be witnessed by the pictures used in the top of the pages).
She holds an MSc in Soil Science and in Environment & Development, combining technical expertise with a deep understanding of sustainability challenges across global food systems.
